The first day of the World Laser Run competition held in Lisbon Portugal, saw seven Australian athletes competing across the women’s individual events delivering some very impressive performances.

17 year old Zara Temesi ran a blistering race in the Junior Laser Final, dominating from start to finish. The Coffs Harbour based athlete who is coached by her parents Adam Temesi and Eszter Hortobagyi was never in doubt. Claiming the World title in brilliant fashion running a PB of 11.44

NSW based athlete 18 year old Genevieve Janse van Rensburg ran a fantastic race to bring home the bronze medal with a PB of 12.22. Victorian based Tully Watt 20 also showing super form finishing strongly in 5th place with a PB of 13.10.

Temesi, Janse van Rensburg and Watt dominated the team event with their strong performances.

Matilda Mason, Indigo Harris (Lord) and Peyton Lee all ran strong heat performances in the semi finals which saw Mason and Harris (Lord) qualify for the final in the U15 event.

Zoe Addinsall ran strongly in the U17 final to finish just short of the podium in 6th place.

Masters athlete Vicky Craig ran a sensational race in 60+ category to finish in 4th position.

Temesi, Janse van Rensburg and Watt are staying in Europe in preparation for the Modern Pentathlon Junior World Championships being held in Poland in three weeks’ time.
