Modern Pentathlon Australia wishes to congratulate Anne-Catherine (Kate) Thompson who was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the sport of modern pentathlon.

Kate has been the secretary and director of sport at Modern Pentathlon Victoria since 1997, and has served on the Modern Pentathlon Australia Executive Board in various capacities, including vice president, director of sport and high performance manager between 2001 and 2013. Currently Kate serves as a member of the MPA high performance committee.

Being an internationally qualified modern Pentathlon judge in all phases of our sport, Kate has been invaluable in her capacity to act as technical director at National events all across Australia.

Her passion for sport has led Kate to also become involved with the pony club tetrathlon movement. Where Kate’s involvement has been integral to the growth and the development of the sport in Australia. Currently she is involved at a state level in the capacity of tetrathlon coach for Pony Club Victoria. Chairperson of both the state and national tetrathlon discipline committees, and the Australian representative on the international tetrathlon committee.

Congratulations Kate on the well deserved recognition of your long standing contribution to the sport of Modern Pentathlon.
