Volunteering

Volunteering

Volunteers are crucial to the running of any sport, and modern pentathlon is no different.  Becoming
a volunteer offers a great chance to meet new friends, develop new skills and contribute to the experience
of others taking part in sport.

Volunteering for MPA or one of its member associations or clubs can offer a fun and diverse experience,
and o
pportunities are available at local, regional and national levels. Volunteer roles vary widely in the
skills required, covering everything from corporate governance, event management and technical officiating
through to general volunteering (such as manning a registration desk, working in the canteen, being a timekeeper,
directing spectators or being a message runner on the day).  They also vary widely in the time required, from
‘on the day’ type roles at regional and national competitions to regular support for local club training sessions
and competitions or becoming part of a State or National committee.

MPA and its member associations aim to run events all throughout the year, with competitions usually lasting 1 or 2 days and training camps up to a week.
